Résumé:
The term quality of life (QoL) is defined as “individuals' perception of their position in
life in the cultural and value context in which they live and in relation to their goals,
expectations, standards and concerns”. of various surveys. In this context, the present
work sought to analyze the Food Insecurity and Quality of Life of individuals residing in
the municipality of Cuité, Paraíba, in the years 2014 and 2019. This is a longitudinal
study, carried out with 225 people through home interviews with a questionnaire printed,
containing questions about quality of life (WHOQOL-bref instrument,), socioeconomic,
demographic, health and food insecurity. A descriptive analysis was performed using the
cutoff point from tertile 67 as a reference, thus verifying an association between the QoL
domains (physical, psychological, social relationships and environment) in both years
studied. The analyzes showed that in the physical domain there were changes in the year
2019 where most individuals would be aged between 50 and 69 years (41.33%) however,
this increase is part of a common phenomenon worldwide, after all, aging is a natural
process of the human being, there was even a higher prevalence of good QoL in the rural
area of the city, where in three domains they will stand out when compared to the urban
area (physical, social relations and environment), another interesting data was the
differences of good quality of life between males and females in the municipality where
women had lower scores in the Physical, Psychological, Social Relations and
Environment domains when compared to males. Based on the statistical analysis
regarding the prevalence and diagnosis of the AI situation, it was noticed that the
individuals who evaluated the physical domain (50%), psychological (60.71%), social
relationships (63.64%) and environment ( 69.44%) as good QoL were in Food Safety at
both times of the study (2014-2019), thus indicating a possible and important relationship
between food safety and QoL.
