Abstract:
Eating habits and their different lifestyles are established in childhood, therefore, healthy
eating will not only provide greater promotion of the child's health, but will also
determine eating practices in adult life. Thus, the school space constitutes a place where
the promotion of healthy habits must be carried out on a routine basis, playing an
important role in the construction of an adequate practice, essential for the health of
students. The objective of this study was to qualitatively evaluate the menus planned for
daycare centers served by the School Feeding Program (PAE) in a small municipality,
located in the interior of Paraíba. The technical sheets of the preparations were evaluated
using the IQ COSAN tool, which evaluates the variety/diversity of the foods offered;
identifies the presence of regional, prohibited and restricted foods; and quantifies the
presence of regional sociobiodiversity foods in accordance with resolution No. 26/2013.
The results obtained demonstrate an adequate planning of diversified menus that offer
regional and sociobiodiversity foods, respecting the minimum and maximum limits of
some food groups organized according to the supply recommendations of the food groups
according to the recommendations, with Regarding the weekly components, it was
possible to notice a low consumption of fresh fruits, considering that this group appears
only 3 times during the week, regarding the monthly components, the menus are well
structured and organized, in accordance with the norms of the resolution no 06/ 2020.
However, it is worth mentioning that the results obtained were based solely on the
technical sheets made available by the education department, and it is also interesting to
verify the implementation of this tool, ensuring that children really have access to planned
items. on the planned menu.
