Resumo:
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (2022), between 2018 and 2020,
there were 4324 records of work accidents related to the grinding and manufacture of
starchy products derived from corn for animals, an activity related to the processing of
grains, 23 of which occurred in the Northeast Region, among these, 4 took place in
Paraíba. Thus, the analysis of occupational risks in the production process of grain
processing is relevant in the prevention of accidents at work, since such an observation
helps to minimize, neutralize and control the risks to which workers are exposed. Thus,
this research aimed to carry out a diagnosis of occupational risks in the grain
processing sector of an animal feed trading company, located in the municipality of
Soledade, PB, to identify possible sources of risk, in addition to proposing measures
in order to mitigate them and preserve the physical integrity of the worker. To this end,
an exploratory research was carried out, of an applied nature with a qualitative
approach, through technical visits that provided general inspections and photographic
records. In the methodology, three approaches for risk analysis were used. First, the
application of questionnaires to ascertain the workers' perception and concern
regarding exposure to risks in the work environment. Second, adoption of verification
lists, based on regulatory norms, considered applicable to the surveyed sector, to verify
nonconformities. Finally, use of the Preliminary Risk Analysis (APR) tool, which
identifies undesirable events, their causes, consequences, detection methods and
safeguards. As a result, the lack of knowledge, sensitivity and concern on the part of
workers regarding the risks present in the work environment was observed. On the
other hand, there was a greater concern with productivity, in relation to work safety.
For the grain processing sector, 75% of the risks were classified as NT (not tolerable)
and 25% as M (moderate) and no risk was considered as tolerable. Intervention
measures were proposed to prevent accidents and to reduce occupational risks in
order to make the work environment safer.
