Resumo:
Objective: To investigate the view of nursing students about the Soft Skills inherent in the
training of future nurses. Method: This is an exploratory-descriptive qualitative study carried
out with 12 students. Face-to-face, recorded interviews were conducted, guided by a
semi-structured script, the transcribed speeches were processed in the IRAMUTEQ Software.
Results: it was shown that students recognize the importance of skills involving soft skills,
and the university's role in developing them, but they are unaware of the applied terminology
"Soft Skills", students did not identify themselves in the role of leader, in addition to
expressing that they do not have a good level of emotional intelligence. The teacher,
internships, group work, among other means, contributed to the development of soft skills
during academic training. Final considerations: Students have a good potential to develop
more satisfactory levels of these and other skills, it is noted the importance of developing soft
skills during the training of nurses.
