Resumo:
Narratives around cinema can encompass different areas of teaching, and history is one of them. The cinema can promote from studies on civilizations to notes little investigated in the historiographical field. This work seeks to understand how villaintype characters behave in the seventh art, using as a base point the films with Maleficent, a character from the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty. The main sources for the production of the work are the films produced by Disney studios in the years 1959 and 2014, in addition to using bibliographic sources of literature to analyze the behavior of the character towards the objective of the research, using the ideas of Vladimir Propp (1984), Peter Burke (2010) and Janaina dos Santos Gamba (2014). After all the survey and research, it can be seen that the character follows an archetype pattern in which she is inserted, causing her to become the villain she is destined for.
