Abstract:
In the search for better productive indexes and quality parameters in Caprinovinoculture, several studies have been carried out around the gastrointestinal parasites that affect the herds and are considered the main sanitary problem, which may imply in the economic unfeasibility of the activity. Given this scenario, the present work aims to identify, quantify and intervene in the main species that plague the productive systems of goats and sheep in the Cariri region, especially in the municipality of Monteiro-PB. Approximately 28 animals were used in the research, of different breeds and on two types of breeding system, intensive and semi-intensive, an x-ray of the conditions of these animals was made, such as body score, coat, ocular mucosa, weight and collections of faeces, in addition to environmental conditions. Through FAMACHA, it was possible to identify the degree of anemia and carry out the selective treatment linked to the OPG exam that had been carried out through the collection of feces and laboratory analysis, where we were able to map the predominant species, identify them and determine the effective vermifuge for control the proliferation of these parasites and we can see that the actions had significant effects, through a reduction in the number of eggs and the FAMACHA card method.
