Résumé:
Approaching the work of the pedagogue in non-school environments, mainly in hospitals, has aroused more and more interest from scholars in contemporary times, in view of the need to offer children and adolescents in a situation of prolonged hospitalization, a possibility to continue their studies or a more appropriate reintegration into school. Hospital educational pedagogical care also promotes, through humanized care, fun activities and moments of relaxation, which allow the patient/student to forget for a while the difficult moment he is going through. In this sense, this study sought to understand the main challenges faced and the contributions of the pedagogue's work in hospital environments for the development, learning and recovery of hospitalized children. For that, a field research was carried out, in a qualitative approach, through a semi-structured interview with 4 (four) subjects, 1 (one) pedagogue and 3 (three) mothers who, at the time of the investigation, accompanied their children in the Júlio Bandeira University Hospital, in the city of Cajazeiras – PB. To deepen the theoretical studies on Hospital Pedagogy, the research was supported by the contributions of authors such as: Costa, Pio and Bessa (2018); Lima, Amaral and Batista (2017); Matos and Mugiatti (2012); Esteves (2008); Brasil (2006; 2005; 2002; 2001;1996), among other authors who helped to understand the studied phenomenon. The research results showed that even facing difficulties, the pedagogue develops activities that contribute to the development of hospitalized children and adolescents, easing their suffering and ensuring that they do not distance themselves from the teaching and learning process, in addition to contributing to a more successful recovery. fast. The results also showed that some mothers were not aware of the pedagogue's performance in the hospital area, but they recognize the importance and the countless contributions that the pedagogue provides to hospitalized children and their families.
