Resumo:
Due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19), responsible for social
isolation worldwide, in-person classes have become remote. From then on, a race against
time began so that students would not lose the school year, teachers and students were
forced to adapt to the use of digital technologies. However, the newest study environment
was not immediately well accepted, with regard to teaching and learning the discipline of
Chemistry, it becomes even more challenging, as it has contents that are difficult to
understand. In this context, this research aims to investigate the challenges faced by
professors and students in the teaching and learning process of the discipline of Chemistry
in the EJA classes (youth and adult education) at the Escola Estadual de Cidadã Integral
Orlando Venâncio dos Santos in the city de Cuité-Pb, in remote classes so that the
experiences lived by both parties can be understood. For this purpose, a qualitative and
exploratory research was carried out. Data from this research were collected through two
questionnaires, one aimed at 1 professor and the other at 126 students, with 25
participants. From the data obtained, it is noted that the students experienced numerous
difficulties with the experience of classes in remote mode. The teachers' lack of practice
regarding the use of ICTs in the classroom, favored that the teaching and learning
development of these students did not occur as expected. Despite the challenges faced,
remote teaching made teachers and students reflect on new ways of teaching, leading
them to experience new possibilities and experiences.
