Resumo:
Urban development in Brazilian cities has triggered problems due to lack of planning and management during the land occupation process. The necessary infrastructure of urban drainage usually does not follow the needs and changes in the environment caused by the urbanization process. Given these perspectives, the objective of the present study was to specify hydrological characteristics, determine project flows and size a macro drainage channel for the Frango Creek watershed, in the municipality of Patos-PB. Through bibliographical research, the concepts of hydrology related to urban drainage and the impacts of urbanization on the hydrological cycle were presented. In the work methodology, through geoprocessing, the area and the physical characteristics of the basin region were characterized, in addition to carrying out hydrological and hydraulic analyses. Using the MAPBIOMAS tools and Google Earth Engine, it was possible to determine the use and occupation of the basin's soil and obtain the parameter number of the CN curve equal to 82. For the hydrological studies, the ANA database was used (National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency) and the AESA (Executive Agency for Water Management of the State) to determine the historical series of maximum daily rainfall and model the rainfall equation. The temporal distribution was carried out by the Alternating Blocks method. The hydrological models to estimate the project flows were the Synthetic Unit Hydrograph-SCS and the Santa Bárbara Unit Hydrograph (HUSB), for different durations and return periods. Finally, the sizing was carried out for critical rain of 60 minutes duration and 70 years of return period. The results for the flows, as well as the sizing by the hydrological models, are satisfactory and concise, with similar results. Thus, it is concluded that the study is of great importance for hydrological management and hydraulic dimensioning, avoiding problems related to flooding.
