This dissertation consisted of theree chapters. The first was a general revision on estimate of consumption and nutritional requirements de sheeps. The second chapter estimate of consumption and productive performace of lambs in pasture in the savanna, submitted at different levels of supplementation. The last body composition and nutritional requirements protein and energy for earn of lambs pasture submitted in the caatinga The three treatments (supplementation offered to the animals at a basis of T1 = 0, T2 = 1.0 and T3 = 1.5% of their live body weight) were randomly replicated in eight
animals according to a completely randomized design. The supplement was composed of a concentrated mixture composed of corn flour, soy crumb and mineral mixture, and T3 was adjusted to a daily body weight gain of 200g/animal according to AFRC (1993). DM, NDF and ADF contents in grasses and herbaceous dicotyledons, using the NDFi methodology, increased during the experiment period, while crude protein content decreased. The mean values for DM digestibility were 45.28% and 61.76%, espectively, for grasses and herbaceous dicotyledons. Nutritional requirements the comparative slaughter methodology Each block was formed every time three animals reached approximately 15 kg of live body weight, and whichever one of them reached 30kg all three were slaughtered. Estimatedvalues for body composition varied from 171.59 to 145.84 g of protein / kg of empty body weight (EBW), 0.48 to 456 g of fat / kg of EBW, and 1,06 to 3,90 Mcal of energy / kg of EBW, for animals from 15 to 30 kg of EBW. The net requirements for a daily 200g body weight gain ranged from 25.99 to 22.09 g of protein and from 0.311 to 0.591 Mcal of energy for animals with 15 and 30 kg of BW, respectively.
