Resumo:
The aim of this research is to investigate the capoeira movement in the city of
Campina Grande-PB, from 1980 to 2014. In the 1980s, capoeira
was characterized as capoeira de vadios and, later, it was projected as
civilized sport. This research will make it possible to carry out important discussions
together with the various capoeira groups today, since they still
the role of groups in the universe of capoeira practice and teaching is questioned,
also understand how capoeira became an activity based on
notions such as: civilization, modernization and standard, many times alien to the
Afro-descendant cultural universe, from which capoeira was born. In our
course, we will analyze how capoeira throughout history ceased to be
a practice of vagrants to become cultural heritage and, with that, she
received a new look that guaranteed its survival and ensured throughout
of history numerous state investments. And not least, we will
investigate how capoeiristas have been acting in the universe of education within
of our schools, through the Capoeira in Schools project that has been taking place since
2014. To carry out our research we will use the technique of oral research, the
bibliographic consultation, as well as examining the periodical press,
aiming to analyze how she divulged and portrayed capoeira in her
pages.
