Abstract:
In an increasingly connected world, the emergence of new digital services that meets user demands
has become a major worldwide trend, something that is aimed at and interpreted as a goal for many
organizations in the field. These users, in turn, are increasingly demanding about the content they
want to consume, as well as when and under what conditions they can consume such content. One of
these digital services that have become more popular over the years is the streaming, which can be
defined as the transmission of multimedia content over the internet, without the need of any
preload; This popularization was boosted mainly during the period of social isolation on a worldwide
scale, which made the use of this service, one of the main entertainment channels for a large part of
the population. One of the streaming platforms, Netflix, however, saw a big drop in its shares
suddenly at times. In this context, this analysis seeks to study, identify and understand the
aggravating factors for this scenario. For this, economic and technical datasets from Netflix were
used, as well as data from surveys involving the platform users, their experiences and their
preferences.
