A flor e o “besouro”: cinema e representações da mulher negra para o ensino de História.

Abstract

This paper advises us to think about the representations of black women’s race and gender in the conteporary world. This discussion is based on the film “O Besouro” (Beetle - The Movie). This paper is a description of an experience developed with ninth grade students from the public elementary school Irmão Damião, localized in the city of Lagoa Seca in the state of Paraiba, Brazil. The following paper is required in order to finish the specialization in Education for Ethnic and Racial Relations at UFCG. This paper’s objective is to problematize the representations of black women. The movie “O Besouro” was utilized methodogically to discuss about race and gender. The objective is to think about the different kinds of exclusion that the black women experience in society nowadays.
