Resumo:
The physical-natural components of the geographic space are essential for the formation of
students as critical citizens, through these knowledge students will be able to observe and
understand the configuration and problems of the space around them. However, in order for this
to happen, it is important that such components are addressed in the classroom in a way that
this critical eye can be developed so that the teaching-learning process is not impaired. Thus,
this research work aims to investigate the impasses and perspectives of the Geography teacher
throughout the teaching-learning process of the physical-natural components. This work is of a
qualitative nature, at first, a bibliographic survey was carried out, using doctoral theses, master's
dissertations, books and articles on the teaching of physical-natural components. Thereafter,
interviews were conducted with three Geography teachers, the results obtained through the
interviews were essential for the research, bringing relevant statements on the teaching of the
physical-natural components of geographic space. Through the interviews, we can observe that
the way in which Physical Geography content is sometimes approached in higher education can
cause difficulties in the way that the future Geography teacher will build this knowledge with
the students. The answers also emphasize the importance of overcoming fragmented forms of
knowledge construction, it is necessary to bring man and his modifications in space to the
teaching components, so that learning takes place in a profitable way, in which the student, in
addition to being able to develop his criticality is also capable of reading the space in which he
lives and the world.
