Résumé:
This paper aims to conduct a study about the media reproduction of the cases of
violence against women in the midst of the pandemic in the sertão of Paraíba, as well
as the effectiveness of public policies aimed at this issue. During the analysis of this
work, we discuss the social and historical aspects of violence in its various aspects
and typologies, and its historical course. Likewise, the development process of the
media that accompanies the evolution of society and the influences it has on people.
We highlight the increase in cases during the emergence of the disease known as
covid-19 and its impacts on the applicability of public policies aimed at women victims
of violence in the sertão of Paraíba and its own regional characteristics.
A study was made, by means of a bibliographic and documental collection exposed
throughout the work, about the Maria da Penha law of n°11.340/2006 and its
preconizations, which foresees penalties for violence committed against women, and
the impacts that occurred with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.Together with a survey of some
cases about violence against women reported by the sites: Diário do Sertão and
Portal Sertão.Having as purpose the discussion about the way the media performs
the reproduction of the news aimed at northeastern women, and the public policies of
confrontation, performing a study of the cases linked in the media.
