Estudo da vegetação arbustiva e arbórea em ecossistema ribeirinho degradado no Cariri Ocidental da Paraíba, Brasil.

Abstract

The research aimed to evaluate the floristic composition in degraded riparian area of Caatinga in Serra Branca, Paraiba Semiarid. The sample area localized on the ciliary ecosystem of the stream Lagoa da Serra. The floristic survey 18 species were recorded, which are distributed in 10 families and 18 genera. The predominant component was the tree where there were 14 species. The families present in higher number of species and genuses were Fabaceae with five species and five genera and Anacardiaceae with three species and three genera. The genres presented low diversity within taxa with have only one species. Therefore, the riparian vegetation of the Serra da Lagoa stream showed a floristic composition with a reduced number of species compared with other works in most conserved riparian environments, demonstrating the high degree of human disturbance in the area and their susceptibility condition the resulting degradation man's action.
