This research reports the experience of using the Google Maps tool during the application of a workshop, in geography classes in an 8th grade class at Antônio Lacerda Neto School, located in the municipality of São José de Piranhas-PB. It aims to focus on the use of the Google Maps tool as an educational technology in Geography Teaching. The research methodology is characterized as bibliographical at the same time as it is characterized as qualitative. The theoretical approach is based on the construction of educational technologies, and their use aimed at teaching geography aimed at the final years of elementary school, especially the 8th year. The report describes the educational practice that was carried out with public school students, built from the application of a workshop with the theme "Cartographic location", such practice corroborates the conclusion that the use of the Google Maps tool contributes positively with the teaching of geography, being able to enhance the process of geographical teaching and learning.
