Resumo:
The relevance of this research is to discuss and reflect on the current situation of education in the municipality of Cachoeira dos Índios, in the face of social isolation and the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC), and digital platforms in remote classes . This work is based on bibliographical research, as well as interviews and questionnaires for teachers and students at the Maria Cândido de Oliveira school. Geographic knowledge, in the face of this pandemic scenario, allows the student to understand the dynamics of everything that is currently happening in the world, starting from the understanding of the place that is inserted to a global scale. The pandemic revealed several discussions and problems, which had long been emphasized by geography, whether in universities or in the school itself. These problems involve social inequality, advances and use of technologies, the importance of school for society. The teaching of Geography allows us to relate the dynamics of the virus in geographic space, and how this has further highlighted social and technological inequalities in access to education. Teachers had to adapt to this new reality, where many did not master technology. Many students were unable to follow the classes in the remote format, as they did not have access to the internet, which made teaching and learning difficult for these students.
