Os desafios do trabalho profissional do/a assistente social na política de assistência social.

Abstract

The present study sought to investigate the main challenges faced by social work, within the sphere of implementing the social assistance policy. The general objective of the monography is to discuss the challenges of social work in social assistance policy, with the following specific objectives: Historically and conceptually rescuing the emergence of social work as a profession; contextualize the Social Assistance Policy in Brazil in order to highlight the advances, setbacks and implications in the work of the social order; think about the main repercussions for the work of social workers in socio-occupational spaces. The study has been based on the historical-dialectical perspective, which apprehends reality from its constant changes and transformations. For the analysis of these aspects, we used qualitative approaches, which allow the researcher to carry out a critical reflection from the elements that are part of the studied object, understanding its specificities of the historical movement of the real. The results point to an intense process of precariousness of the Brazilian Social Assistance Policy and, consequently, to the work of the social worker, through impacts caused to socio-occupational spaces, where new expressions of the social question are evidenced, dismantling of social rights, difficulty of access to social policy, increased inequalities and fragility of labor ties, making it necessary to build strategies to strengthen the professional category to face these repercussions.
