Resumen:
This work consists of a brief discussion about the mental health of northeastern sertaneja women. The work seeks to understand and relate the context of the northeastern sertão and its singularities, starting from the patriarchal and moralistic roots, with the problem related to the mental health of the women who live in this
region. The current panorama of women's mental health care, as it is found in the region, is also addressed by the research. The research, which is of an exploratory and qualitative nature, starting from a bibliographical research, begins with a debate on gender and its various definitions, passing through the meaning that the theme has for the hinterland. After that, the discursive theoretical part proceeds to the approach of the social determinants of health of the northeastern sertaneja, making a brief discussion about this regional cut. It advances with the theme of violence against women as a factor related to the mental health of northeastern sertaneja women. The discussion section concludes with a brief explanation of the network of services offered to women in Paraíba, along with a brief overview of the collection of works produced on this theme. All this theoretical discussion forms the basis for the final considerations, which points to the importance of feminist movements and rural women's representativeness movements, as well as the search for the insertion
of sertaneja women in political environments, participating in the construction of public policies that include in formulating the notion of territory and all the factors associated with the mental suffering of sertaneja women.
