Resumo:
The premise that accompanies this study is simple and objective. facing the
management of materials in a context that incorporates actions aimed at eliminating
waste and the multiplicity of processes involving inventory management, such as
planning, demand, acquisition, storage and distribution, those that include organizations
public and private. This work aims to analyze the inventory management and
warehouse managed by an education secretariat, specifically located in the city of
Marizópolis, in the high hinterland of Paraíba. The general objective of this research is to evaluate the management of
stocks in the materials sector of the education department of the municipal government. The review
bibliography on inventory management is based on publications considered relevant on
the subject, focusing on works that address stock control practices. The methodology
used was a bibliographic survey, with exploratory purposes, with a study method of
case, semi-structured interview and qualitative analysis. Thus, we conclude that organization as
a whole manages to control its stock well, however we understand that stock control
is carried out without established strategies for such activities, everything is done dynamically and
empirical, with the addition of information technology to facilitate the control of levels of
inventory, outputs and inputs. In this way, it is highlighted the fact that the demand is made in a
qualitative and there is no classification of the products in stock. Therefore, we suggest techniques
existing and possible to implement to the sector.
