In this work, a methodology for data collection, related to the study for the implementation of a passenger road terminal, is developed, aiming at estimating the future demand for long-distance journeys through the Regression Analysis technique. The model is proposed for the conceptualization of demand, the identification of sources and the preparation of forms for the collection of data registered in the competent government bodies. A technique is presented to carry out direct research to the users of the intercity public transport system, to identify the characteristics of the demand of trips within the urban context. It concludes with the application of the model and demand analysis as a basic study for the implementation of a road terminal in a medium-sized city.
