Resumo:
This work has the objective of contributing
to the study of shallow stabilization ponds with maximum
utilization of incident light energy for algal photosynthesis, making possible a high rate of biochemical degradation of organic material, únder predominantily aerobic conditions - "high rate ponds".
We are presenting essentially a bibliographic study of prevlous experiments and design criteria, together with experimental data of research carried out in a pilot
study of a pond situated in the North East of Brazil, including conclusions and recommendations for future studies.
