As well as First and Second Sector organizations, as well as Third Sector organizations need
resources to achieve their objectives. To this end, an assessment of Civil Society
Organizations through organizational performance indicators will enable organizations to
better manage, as it will explain the results and impact they are providing to society, in
addition to improving fundraising and recognition of their activities before the public. the
community society it serves. Therefore, this dissertation aimed develop a valid system of
indicators for evaluating efficiency, efficacy and effectiveness for Civil Society Organizations
of local development with a focus on sustainability. Initially, a bibliometric study was carried
out to learn about performance indicators and studies on the subject, followed by the
elaboration of a scale of performance indicators based on the literature and vision of managers
working in the Third Sector and in the area of local development with a focus on
sustainability. The results emphasize that performance evaluation is important in measuring
organizational performance, providing social organizations with a satisfactory development of
their actions, to supervise their activities, to ensure that their objectives are achieved, and to
attract potential donors. In addition, a system with 50 indicators of efficiency, efficacy and
effectiveness was developed for non -profit organizations that can support strategic
management and management decision -making focused on maintaining and executing
actions performed by civil society organizations.
