Résumé:
This paper approaches visual literacy in the development of reading and writing skills in the English language, taking into consideration the changes in the language area and the reformulation of conceptions about language teaching, which are currently concerns in the teaching field, due to the technological and media advances, implying new ways of acquiring/transmitting knowledge. The work, from a sociocultural perspective, also presents Vygotsky's vision of language, highlighting its relevance and social function. Finally, I present a proposal of an activity applied to the teaching of English language in elementary school I, with the purpose of offering an activity that may involve students and, consequently, promote learning.
