Resumen:
This study describes the manifestations of hypersensitivity to nonsteroidal anti-
inflammatory drug reported by patients in two health units in Campina Grande, and
confront the results with data in the literature. Data were collected through interviews
with patients in care, using a targeted questionnaire. From a total sample of 34
people, the female population was more frequent, and dipyrone more related drug.
Most cases had clinical low risk, often related to a single drug. However, this class of
drugs has the potential to trigger dramatic situations, and its use must be rational and
cautious, particularly in people with a history of hypersensitivity and chronic
inflammatory diseases. Detailed medical history and appropriate laboratory tests are
essential for diagnosis and responsible management of suspected cases.
