lt is a fact that the natural reservas of fish can no longer meet the needs of the consumer, and
before this. the exploration of new horizons and alternatives production has been showing
increasingly present in recent years. Given this context, it was developed a field work in the
rural property Sitio Gurjaú. located in the municipality of Coronel Ezequiel — RN, being the
research base the evaluation of the productive perfomance of tilapia ()reochromís niloricus
(Lineage Chitralada') cultivated in tanks excavated in the period of August 2016 to July
2017.1'he property has 4 tanks excavated and 1 reservoir, that every three days yields
400.00011ters of water, allowing for the development of tilapia and irrigating the local
agriculture. Every lS days occurred visits for the evaluation of the activity. water collection
and analysis of physical and chemical parameters through the Kit analysis of the Acqua
Supre. The present work had as objectives to evaluate the tilápias cultivation in dug tanks of &
rural property in Colonel Ezequiel —- RN in the perspective of potential alternative piscícola,
giving opportunity for the development of the tilapicultura and respecting the environment.
The production of tilapia in tanks excavated in this property lasts ou average & period of 6
months. with a population of 6.000 fingerlings per tank, thus. it was possible to keep up with
2 production cycles. a despesca in September 20l6 with a feed conversion (1,2:1) and a cycle
from October 2016 to April 2017 with feed conversion (0.8?:l),At the end of each despesca
the tilapia reach an average of 78% for the live animal, yielding a total of 4.200 Kg fish
despescado. Such productivity is the fruits of the good results relating to hydrological
parameters, such as dissolved oxygen in the water which reached values alternating between
6532 to 9,63 Ing/L; carbon gas dissolved in the water, with an average of 1102 mg/L; nitrite,
which correspond the average 0.2 mg/L; arnrnonia total, with an average of 2,09 Ing/L; and
transparency of the water. respectively 16,21 cm depth! luminosity. The results demonstrated
that tilapias presented excellent development zootechnical and good productivity, in addition
to respond satisfactorily to the adversities imposed by the environment. Finally. it is possible
to aftirm that the values of the physical and chemical parameters of the water observed during
the analysis met within the parameters of quality, being the creation in tanks excavated an
alternative to obtain source of income, quality tbod and & counterpart the fishing cxtractive.
