Resumen:
Being deaf in a hearing society is a huge challenge. Us. tracks of history we see
a tireless search for rights, full of difficulties and some glories, In Brazil one of the
first conquests was the creation of a school, still in the reign of D. Pedro [I, having advances
significant since then. In this sense, seeking to dialogue about the inclusion of deaf people in the
teaching-learning environment this research was developed. This work contains a
bibliographical and empirical research. A bibliographical research was carried out to know the history
and advances in deaf culture and identity, as well as inclusion in the educational environment and the
difficulties faced by this class. The empirical research was carried out to know the
reality of a deaf person inserted in the regular school environment in high school from the point of view
teachers and classmates, with the presence of an interpreter to help with the
activities. At the end, it was observed that most of the difficulties “are overcome with the presence of the
professional interpreter, who assists in activities in the classroom and outside of it. According to the
researches living with colleagues and group activities happen satisfactorily,
since there is mutual respect in the environment in question.
