This work entitled: cinema as a methodological proposal for the understanding of geographic space: an analysis of the Xingu film, sought to understand the dynamics of geographic space from the use of cinema as a didactic strategy for Geography class, as well as discuss the con-cept of geographic space and its representation in the cinema, as well as ana lisar the film "Xingu" and its multiple possibilities of conceptual approaches in the Geographic science and in order to associate the didactic contents of Geography as a suggestion for the teaching. The methodology used was a bibliographical research that used authors such as: Milton Santos (1996), Lefebrev (2001), Pontuschka (2009), Passine (2009), Martins (2017), and others that enabled direct contact with ashes, articles , monographs, books on the subject addressed. This paper aims to answer the following question: how to associate films with the compression of geographic space starting from didactic content. The research time was 4 months. From this assumption the film Xingu was analyzed in the perspective of reading the geographic space and its diverse forms and ways, such as: cultural, territorial, and conflictual, and yet it was sought from these presuppositions to associate the film with the didactic contents. He noticed that there was no meeting between the film in question and the contents of the 7th, 8th and 1st year of the school series.
