Resumo:
This monograph aims to analyze the importance of music to the process of teaching and learning in geography lessons, with emphasis on understanding of space. Music is an element that is present in the lives of individuals, and is a form of representation of different spatiality, so geography may use this resource to assist in the teaching-learning process, by reading the same for understanding categories and content relevant to this discipline. Additionally, this feature can make the classes more dynamic and creative, awakening the interest of the student and breaking the stereotype of boring and tiring discipline, which has been attributed to school Geography in the course of his career. To achieve the goal proposed here, at first, a literature search was performed, with authors to discuss the issue or issues related to it. After trying to elucidate the discussion that was held, an analysis of the lyrics "Citizen" was made, consisting of Lucius Barbosa, seeking to identify and understand the present geographicity this song emphasizing in their representation on the space. Thus it is believed that the discussions here will contribute to the development of Geography teaching.
