Resumo:
The region of the city of Amparo, in Paraíba, is geographically located in the semi-arid region of the Brazilian Northeast, thus, the economic activities installed in that locality go through particular difficulties, especially in agriculture, which is an activity associated with the climate. In these regions, there are groups of small family farmers who have engaged in Agricultural Social Movements, which represent collective action of the interests of small producers who practice agroecological family farming. The general objective of the present work is to conduct a study on the impact of the actions developed in the productive unit linked to the Associação Agroecológica de Certificação Participativa do Cariri Paraibano (ACEPAC), Associação dos Agricultores Familiares das Comunidades Poço do Boi, Quixaba e Poço Escuro (AAFPQP) and Associação da Mata for the farmers and society, besides evaluating the support of public policies to these private law societies. The methodology used was systematic literature research to evaluate the benefits of organic production system, a questionnaire was also applied for members of the associations studied to evaluate the impact of the actions of the organizations. The results showed that the organic system brings benefits to the community and that the associations have brought technical support and income to the community, the main suggestion is the supply of machinery for work in agriculture. Therefore, it can be concluded that the associations' actions have great importance for the economy of the city of Amparo, in Paraíba.
