Resumo:
Management through business processes has proven to be increasingly efficient for organizations in contemporary times, due to the high need for flexibility and continuous improvement to generate differentiation in the market. Through analysis, mapping, modeling and measurement of processes, it is possible to understand and identify deficiencies, providing support for resolution through the construction of action plans that provide spoils to increase profitability, enable expansion and decentralization. This monograph tries to apply the concept of the BPM methodology, through a case study in a medium-sized family business retailer of construction materials with specialization in the wood segment, of the partially successful attempt to implement management by business processes in the organization . Despite obtaining good results, cultural and personal factors of the organization's employees were decisive for the failure to reach the general objective of the work, however, the research contributes to the academic environment, not forgetting to point out improvements in the business context.
