Resumo:
The objective of this work is to present a didactic proposal for the teaching of English Language in school contexts, starting from a reflection on ways to develop students' critical posture through authentic materials of the target language, produced in a real communication situation. We seek to show how social issues are transmitted through the work X-Men, in the genres HQ and film, aiming to approach students not only to the target language, but also to the cultural aspects that permeate education. For this, we emphasize a teaching based on the valorization of plurality in cultural interaction and commitment both to the development of students' communicative skills and to the formation of critical and conscious citizens. Our research is of a bibliographic and propositional character. It counts as a theoretical framework the contributions of authors such Candau (2008), Schneuwly and Dolz (2014), Moacy Cirne (1972), Fantin (2017) and Bibe-Luyten (1985) among other researchers. It is expected that the work with the genres next to the chosen theme can contribute to the expansion of the students' cultural knowledge.
