Abstract:
The time allocated to literary reading in Basic Education is quite shy and, when this practice happens, it cannot effectively attract or encourage students to get involved in this action, since the readings, in most cases, merely serve the purpose of analyzing linguistic elements. Given this aspect, this research aims to propose literary reading strategies made possible by discursive semiotics that can be worked with cordel in the 9th grade of Elementary School. To do so, we discussed texts and literary reading at school; we articulate concepts of Discursive Semiotics with emphasis on the Generative Path of Meaning; we undertook a reading of the cordel Romance and martyrdom of the beautiful Inês de Castro by, Jorge Furtado and Klévisson Viana; and we elaborated an e-book with cordel reading workshops from the perspective of Discursive Semiotics. In this direction, we use the theory of Discursive Semiotics as a basis, which presents a Generative Path of Meaning composed of a fundamental level, a narrative and a discursive level. This is a bibliographic research, with a qualitative approach and an applied and propositional nature. As its corpus, we selected Romance and martyrdom of the beautiful Inês de Castro, by Jorge Furtado and Klévisson Viana. From reading this corpus, we found a character named D. Pedro I in search of loving fulfillment with a lady-in-waiting, the beautiful Inês de Castro, without being allowed to do so by the royal family. In this sense, the theme of forbidden love was based on the status of power, since on the one hand there was a commoner and, on the other, a royal prince whose object of desire of these young people was to live their love intensely. As a technical product, we created an e-book containing four chapters, each with a workshop, exploring everything from the structure of the cordel to categories of the Generative Path of Meaning, without necessarily having a linearity.
