Resumo:
The Martorell ulcer is a painful ischemic ulcer of the lower limb, more common in
women, disproportionate to their size and associated with severe hypertension pain.
It is difficult to diagnosis and treatment. In diabetic patients can be confused with
lesions typical of macro and microvascular complications they present. In this work is
described the epidemiological clinical profile of 29/900 diabetic patients seen in
diabetic foot room of the HUAC in February 2000 to December 2015. The females
prevailed (72%), the average age was 65 years, these patients were over 10 years of
diabetes mellitus type 2, most were literate and possessed income of up to 3
minimum wages. No other factor was found, besides SAH itself, which would provide
the appearance of ulcers in these patients. It follows, therefore, that this work is in
accordance with literature data already published mainly on the sex and age of
patients affected by this ulcer. The type 2 diabetes mellitus has been shown to be a
synergistic factor for the onset thereof.
