Résumé:
The English Language Teaching, increasingly, requires the attention of teachers to the need of
contextualizing the process of language learning. This contextualization, therefore, involves the
reflection of the social changes and the themes that perpass the daily life of the people involved
in this process. When socially relevant transversal themes are present in the classroom, students
tend to attach greater significance to the learning process itself and the teaching process
performs its role with regard to the critical student formation and the debate on citizenship. In
this context, the present research has as its main objective to propose a didactic sequence with
the accomplishment of a linguistic-communicative activity, working the abilities of reading,
writing, listening and speaking in an integrated way, from the television series One day at a
time and two of its main themes: Feminism and Immigration. Hence, this work had the
