Resumo:
Secondary education is a stage of great importance for the student's life, it is where
there is preparation for the job market and for the insertion of young people in higher
education courses, and it is also the last phase of basic education in the Brazilian
education system, however, law nº 13,415/2017 proposed a restructuring of the
secondary education model in Brazil, mainly in terms of curriculum and teaching
methodology. Several areas have been modified, mainly the teaching of Geography,
since the changes generate reflections about their possible impacts, the referred
work has as main objective to carry out a bibliographical review about the possible
impacts caused in the teaching of Geography due to the proposal of the new high
school. In order to reach the main objective, the following specific objectives are set
out: to understand the main changes that occurred with the proposal of the new
secondary education in Brazil, to list the main effects caused in the teaching of
Geography with the new secondary education in Brazilian basic education; carry out
a brief discussion about the changes in Brazilian secondary education from the
perspective of teaching Geography in public schools. The research was of the
bibliographical type, the materials were collected in repositories, magazines,
educational sites and books. It is noticed that the proposal of the new teaching brings
with it negative impacts such as the reformulation of the curricula, curricular flexibility
and challenges for the adaptation of teachers and schools.
