Resumo:
The objective of this work is to analyze the performance of the information and repression organs of the military business dictatorship in Paraíba (1964-1985) and to demonstrate how this performance had a strong class content. Through the sources of the SNI Regional Agency in Recife, the Federal Police Department of Paraíba and the DOPS-PB, we were concerned to demonstrate how these bodies were instruments of the regime used mainly against the subaltern layers of Paraíba society that struggled to claim their rights social, economic and political. That is why we start from the hypothesis that the surveillance carried out by these bodies was a surveillance with a sense of class, since we share the interpretation that the 1964 coup was a class coup and the dictatorship that was born from it is an open class dictatorship and in its most complete autocratic form. The main mission of these bodies was to annul in Paraíba, as well as throughout Brazil, the class struggle in the country, anticipating, annulling and repressing through the information and repression organs, any protest, strike and demonstration against the dictatorship, however small. was the social spark. The main objective of this research is to show how the social struggles in Paraíba were watched by these bodies and several citizens of Paraíba who sought to claim better living conditions had their lives monitored and suffered from the surveillance and repression of these dictatorial instruments.
