Resumo:
The e-SUS AB seeks to implement technologies that meet the needs of
management of basic care, to streamline the work process of health and
management teams. Thus, the research aimed to evaluate the process of
implementation of e-SUS AB in Basic Health Units of the city of Campina Grande-
Paraíba, taking into account questions associated with the perception of health
professionals regarding this new reality. This is an observational, cross-sectional,
qualitative study that involved 38 semi-structured interviews. The transcripts were
analyzed according to Laurence Bardin's Content Analysis technique. The results
were organized into thematic categories, which focused on the views of
professionals about the e-SUS AB, the implication of potentialities and weaknesses
in the work process and the critical evaluation of the infrastructure offered for full
use of the system. It is worth mentioning, among the speeches, the recognition of
the e-SUS AB as a new instrument for data collection, which can be destined for the
integration between the different levels of health care and for the reformulation of
regional and national policies. The qualities were restricted to the discontinuation of
the use of physical records, ease of access to data and the adequate technological
infrastructure offered; while the major concerns involved the scarcity of training,
individual resistance to the computerization process, the instabilities and failures of
the system, security in storage and confidentiality of data, and the potential harm to
the professional-patient relationship.
