Resumo:
Violence against women has become, in the last decade, one of the public problems with the greatest social and political visibility in the country. In Paraíba, there has also been an increase in the rates of gender violence against women. Thus, tackling domestic violence has become one of the most challenging issues for the development of public policies, including on the initiative of the Judiciary. In this sense, the following research problem arises: has the “Justice for Peace at Home” program contributed to the speed of processes on violence against women in the state of Paraíba? Thus, the objective of the present study was the Justice for Peace at Home Program, in Paraíba, having as a time frame the years 2013 and 2014, exante, and those from 2015 to 2021, ex-post. The present research was developed with support in the database provided by the Management of Statistical Research (GEEST), of the Court of Justice of Paraíba (TJPB), and organized by the author, which is based on the judicial processes. A data analysis that was used is of the quantitative-descriptive type, built from secondary data and graphs. The results show that the number of cases of domestic violence against women that were distributed in Paraíba increased year by year, throughout the 2015-2021 historical series. Furthermore, there was a significant increase in the number of protective measures granted and a consequent decrease in the number of cases with sentences, when compared, especially in the period 2018-2021. With regard to the time until the granting of the measure, this proves to be much faster than the period for pronouncing the sentence. Regarding procedural filings, it was accepted that the rates are high until the year 2018, always above 90%.
