Résumé:
This research’s objective was to evaluate the visual elements of the interface Design
for the development of a mobile app that aids in supermarket purchases, aiming to
improve the process of digital inclusion of the elderly public. Digital apps may become
an important gateway for the elder to access the virtual world and enjoy the benefits
that Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can provide. Design, as a
field of research and development, becomes fundamental in this process of promotion
and digital inclusion, contributing to the development of suitable products that
correspond to the needs of those individuals. The approach adopted in this research
was of mixed nature, bearing in mind the acquisition of qualitative and quantitative data
for the analysis and formulation of inferences. This research’s method is Design
Science Research, being that it is adequate for developing research projects that focus
on creating artifacts that promote improvements in the real world and is applied based
on the contributions of Pimentel et al. (2020), Santos (2018) and Lacerda et al. (2013).
In addition to the collection of bibliographic information, evaluations were carried out
with similar products to contribute to the understanding of the problem. Subsequently,
a prototype was developed and submitted to a diagnostical usability test, using as
collection instruments: pre-test survey, observation, annotations, auxiliary file, and
semi-structured interview. The results obtained were satisfactory in terms of the
interactional efficacy of the participants with the prototype and of the adequacy of the
visual elements applied, as well as it was possible to ratify the conjectures collected in
the study. Finally, is hereby ratified a need for effective digital inclusion of the elderly
through the expansion of accessible mechanisms and products that contribute to the
learning of that public.
