Fish production is important to agribusiness because it generates income, in addition to being an important food for the population. The fish grows every year and therefore the research in that area, such as the quality of the water used in this form of production, has enough relevance. Given this fact, studies show that fish farms can have contamination by bacteria, which causes a lot of damage to health and the creation, including the death of fish. The study aimed to assess the effects of contaminated water by bacteria Escherichia coli and Salmonella enteritidis in the production of tilapias. Analyzed samples of muscle, skin and digestive tract of fish, which remained 45 days in aquariums, with two different bacteria, observed the development of the fish and the effects of contaminants to the fish, as well as pH levels, temperature, and dissolved oxygen. The present study showed which even with water contamination by the bacteria involved in the study, these were unable to penetrate the skin of the fish, thus also not entered in the muscles, it found only in the intestines. Studies on fish farms are important, should exploited so that this culture be likely to be increasingly widespread, and understood, as it is responsible for population health and income generation.
