Abstract

The Public Transparency Portal is an important tool for disseminating information on how public money is used by public administration. In this sense, the present research work sought to answer the following problem: How was the disclosure and public transparency of management on the websites of the municipal government of Caraúbas, in Paraíba, in 2021? The general objective was: To analyze the levels and mechanisms of disclosure and transparency of management on the websites of the City Hall of Caraúbas-PB in 2021. As a result, the following specific objectives were presented: Check the facebook and Instagram pages and evaluate the frequency, content, transparency of public publications from the municipality of the study; Compare the official city hall website and digital media, to measure whether the works and accountability are being accessible to the population; Identify possible communication errors and absences in disclosing key management factors; and suggestions for improving the transparency of municipal management in Caraúbas – PB. With regard to methodology, this article is a case study, of a descriptive nature, through an exploratory and qualitative study, seeking to point out the negative and positive elements of this sector of public administration. It is concluded, then, from the results collected and analyzed how the municipal government performs administrative activities through the use of the internet to feed the Public Transparency website and other digital mechanisms, seeking improvements in municipal public administration. It was concluded that, although the municipal government of Caraúbas - PB, seeks to be in line with all the regulations that guide the publication of public goods, we have as main results the finding that an update is necessary in its search engines.
