Estudo do meio: uma experiência de prática de ensino de Geografia em perspectiva multiescalar.

Abstract

Geography is an area of knowledge that aims to study the geographic space, that is, the interactions and relationships that occur between society and the terrestrial physical environment. This research seeks to describe the experience lived in a public school in Campina Grande-PB with Study of the Environment (EM), during the supervised internship IV in Geography, in the first semester of 2022 and, in the second semester, as a participant in a teaching class superior of the second period of the Geography course, in the discipline "Experience in the School Space" of the UFCG - Federal University of Campina Grande - PB. (EM) emerges as a pedagogical strategy that aims to bring students closer to the geographic reality in which they are inserted. This allows for a better understanding of the processes and phenomena that occur in a given space, as well as the different ways of using and appropriating it. Both higher and basic education lack the development of research that uses the study of the environment in view of the low or almost no performance of this type of pedagogical procedure. Because by using the Multiscalar perspective, the study of the environment expands the analysis of geographic phenomena beyond the local, considering interactions at broader levels, such as regional, national and global. Regarding the methodology, it should be noted that the practical research was carried out with two classes, one from basic education, 3rd year of high school in a state school and another group of higher education students in the second period of the geography course at the Federal University from Campina Grande – PB. The research used descriptive qualitative methodology of the activities and the process of carrying it out. This allows an understanding of the processes and relationships that occur in a given space. It was found with the research that (EM) in addition to contributing to a better understanding of the geographic space in a multiscale perspective, also collaborates in the student's formation, allowing him to develop skills such as observation, critical analysis and interpretation of the geographic phenomena present in his surroundings Thus, by appropriating the concepts and methodologies worked on, the student can become capable of better understanding the reality in which he is inserted, as well as actively and critically participating in the construction of a fairer and more sustainable society.
