Resumo:
The present work proposes to present the lived experiences as well as the results obtained from a trial.
Such investigative technique was applied at the end of the didactic sequence, having as its theme: “the
use of GeoGebra in teaching the properties of quadrilaterals.” Eleven students from the 3rd year of
secondary education from a private education institution located in the city of Cuité - PB participated.
The practice was carried out at the Mathematics Laboratory of the Federal University of Campina
Grande, campus Cuité - PB, lasting approximately 1 hour. The general objective of this article is to study
the influence of the GeoGebra software in teaching the properties of quadrilaterals. To carry out this
work, the methods chosen for the research were, in addition to observations, the qualitative and
quantitative methods also known as the quali-quanti method. From the study it was evident that the use
of the GeoGebra software contributed positively to the students' understanding of the properties of
quadrilaterals, obtaining several positive comments regarding the use of the application in mathematics
classes. Thus, making students protagonists in their own teaching-learning process, arousing interest
and helping to understand the concepts. A negative point pointed out by the class is that they had few
resources that they could use throughout basic education.
