Resumo:
The present work approaches the use of dynamic mathematics software in the classroom.
class and its main objective is to study how the use of GeoGebra software influences the
study of the properties of regular polygons. In order for us to reach our goal,
we used as a source of research the application of a didactic sequence in a class of the 3rd year of
high school at a private school in the city of Cuité-PB, which took place on May 8
2023. The application took place on the UFCG campus, in the computer lab of the
degree in Mathematics. The application was attended by 11 students, 6 boys and 5
girls and lasted approximately 1 hour. We made qualitative, quantitative approaches
and interpretative to analyze the aspects involved in the research. The collected data were obtained
through observations made during the didactic sequence and through the students' responses to a
questionnaire delivered at the end of the application. Based on data analysis, we realized that the
how we use GeoGebra interfered in a positive way in the students, however, in different ways.
Among the studied properties we have, inscription and circumscription of regular polygons and calculation of the
sums of angles of regular polygons. In conclusion, we note that, within the
adequate conditions and with a well-executed planning, the use of software in the process of
teaching-learning of mathematics, specifically geometry, proved to be quite relevant,
providing better interaction between student and teacher. Furthermore, we have seen that GeoGebra
contributed effectively to the understanding of the content taught in the didactic sequence, awakening in
some students curiosity, motivating them to explore the software beyond what was planned. Of this
Thus, we conclude that the use of GeoGebra and similar software is effective in the process of
teaching-learning of mathematics, highlighted, GeoGebra in the aid of the study of properties
of regular polygons.
