Resumo:
This research focuses on intermediality, specifically examining cinematic adaptations of
literary works, with a focus on William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth and its transposition
into the film Throne of Blood directed by Akira Kurosawa. The main objective of this study is
to explore the intermediatic relationships that intertwine in these works, while also analyzing
themes such as honor and ambition and their cultural representations. The justification for this
work lies in the importance of bringing new perspectives of cultural interpretation through the
prism of intermediality, as well as the need to study ethnic diversity, cultural plurality, and the
multiplicity of representations from different cultures. The methodology employed includes a
literature and film review, following the methods of comparative literature. The study is divided
into three stages: an initial exposition of the historical and theoretical framework, an in-depth
analysis of the objects of study applying relevant concepts, and a set of final considerations
regarding the findings and possible future research expansions.
