Resumen:
The purpose of this work was evaluate the performance of a destination column with
Kerapak structured packing through the determination of the pressure drop and efficiency,
comparing the experimental results with the préexistent predicted models for structured packing.
For it, a lot of experimental tests was made employing the sistem of "Ciclohexano/N-heptano"
under pressures of 1008, 850, 745, 300, 225 and 176 mbar, having the column operated under
total reflux. The results presented by experimental tests confirm the results thet are show in the
literature, in other words, the structured packings show a little pressure drop and high efficiency.
Comparing the experimental results with the existent predicted models ,we have noted a big
deviation that in the major part of cases, can be inputed to the fact of this models haven't been
created for Kerapak ceramic packing. So, we Searched for modifing the predicted patterns by
the alteration in some parameters of this equations in attempt of obtain the best response of this
equacions. Modifications were maden by the utilization of a Program elaborated For the Adjust
of model's constants and modifications by the use of SIMPLEX were made to improve the
constants of the packing in study. As a result of this modifications, there was good reduction of
deviaton if we compare with the original models used in the first stage of this work. The
predicted patterns modified possed to reproduce with more precision the results experimentally
achieved.
