Résumé:
In the search for innovative materials with excellent properties such as low specific weight and resistance to
impact, companies are increasingly investing in research of these materials and the improvement of
industrial processes leading to the production of them. Back to environmental degradation and reduce the
time of production are the key objectives of this project, which is specifically to replace the process of thermal
curing (termopolimerização) by UV radiation curing (photopolymerization) of mixtures of monomers and
fotoiniciadores used in the production of ophthalmic lenses. The monomers and fotoiniciadores used were
from industries as SARTOMER, CIBA, Ipiranga and Chemtura, acquired through BRAZMO Bandeirante. We
used various techniques for characterization of raw materials such as thermogravimetry / differential thermal
analysis (TG / DTG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), vibrational spectroscopy for absorption in the
infrared (IR) and electronic absorption spectrophotometry in the UV-Visible (UV-Vis). The studies of
characterization of monomers, oligomers and the fotoiniciadores indicated that all samples showed low
thermal stability.
