Abstract:
Today, the country is the world leader in ultra-water exploration and success of drilling of wells for oil and the
cost depends largely on the properties of the drilling fluid, especially when it comes to very deep wells. Thus
this work aimed to formulate the drilling fluid paraffin base, based on standard formulations of fluids, using
the clay as viscosificante / organophilic clay compositions of obtained. It was found that the thermal analysis
and X-ray difrações show that bentonite clays are predominantly, with little contamination of accessory
minerals, the use of salts led to the process of delamination of clays with basal spacing of about 3.5 nm. The
fluids studied have rheological properties outside of the standards recommended by the API and below the
standard properties of the fluid. So there was a need to expand the studies for fluids based on ester and
diesel, to the improvement of rheological behavior and a better interaction of organophilic obtained with the
organic medium.
